To access your files on the jdata server you will need to take the following steps:
1. Download the VPN Software. That software makes the U of O server “think” you are on campus so you can access all resources that you can access when you are connected to the Internet on campus. To download the VPN software, go to this address: http://libweb.uoregon.edu/systems/proxy/
Once you have downloaded the VPN software and connected to the server, the tutorial for accessing your files is available on Blackboard –> Gateway 2 Readings –> How-to Videos –> How to submit multimedia assignments.
THOSE OF YOU USING A PC will have to take one more step.
2. After you are connected through the VPN software, go to the Start menu –> Run… and type \\jdata2.uoregon.edu (please, note that these are backward slashes – not the ones you would use in http:// addresses!). A window will pop-up asking you to authenticate. For username enter your alphamail username and your password is your U of O ID number.
If you are at home and you try these steps right now, you should be able to play the audio files you saved in your folder today.
