I struggle with this a lot when monitoring the social media for my internship. I am always trying to find new ways to measure the feedback we're receiving and if we are actually reaching the right people. In the moment, it doesn't seem like you're making a lot of progress at times, but its the end results that matter.

I love the ideas of having a community engagement board for your office to get feedback. I think it's a comfortable and interactive tool to open up conversation. These ideas need to start brewing somewhere and they can get started if everyone in the company works together.

I think that the potential of social media grows increasingly each day and that its outreach is expanding constantly. We already know that social media networks have the capacity to make their mark in foreign countries but I think it's hard to determine how they will be able to survive. The countries that social media networks are trying to break into may not be as rapid and efficient with making technological updates as we are in the States. I think that these slower developing countries will benefit from the communication and outward contact of social media and the support it can bring to their countries.

This class was truly beneficial for my real world road ahead. I completely agree with how much my perspective of Twitter changed after this class. I feel like I am more equip to properly use social media in the workplace. I will miss this class and its genuine conversations. Thank you for the wrap up post, Katy.

I totally understand if something wants to brand themselves because they are beginning mistaken with, I don't know, a drug dealer, but I have no intention on wanting to make myself a brand. If that is something you want to do and something you have a passion to do, than more power to you, but what about the people that don't want that attention or don't care for it? I don't think everyone should have to tweet what their doing, sign in on FourSqaure in every location they set a foot in, or update their status about their thinking.

I agree with your suggestions as well. I think that it takes a lot to engage an audience but at the same time we've been researching so many campaigns and plans that have gone horribly wrong. I think people need to stick with being simple. Which your suggestions are. I think I'm more likely to get involved with a brand if I could win something. Everyone loves free stuff.

There was a recurring theme through all my classes this term: embrace social media, and I wouldn't have embraced it as much if I wasn't using it every day thanks to J412. I think people learn more by doing and having to live tweet and converse with people via Twitter has opened a forum to communicate through. I'm still not up to par with everyone else when it comes to Twitter but I think I'll slowly get there.

Love the recap of the class! This by far was one of my top one of my favorite classes at the University of Oregon.

Ending the term with Ali Manzano's as a guest speaker was very informative and allowed the class to discuss ideas that we could take into future social media endeavors.

Thanks for an awesome class, Kelli!

The term really did fly by and these are great things to take away from the course. I agree with Ashley that planning is important as well, but with social media plans you need to remember to always have a policy. It is essential to having effective and ethical social media practices for your business.

I only created a Twitter a few months before and I'm still not that active on it, but thanks to J412 I have a better understanding of how to use it from a business standpoint. The class has been very informative as to the future of social media and how to engage audiences. And since I will be graduating next term, it will be useful sooner rather than later.
